Thanks for visiting!

Frederick Doran was born in Boston, MA, and as a child he was always building things, whether it was tree houses or lego creations.  As an adolescent Frederick was able to gain valuable craftsmanship skills by working for his uncle Mike Marcello, an old school Italian Master Craftsman. While earning his B.S. degree in Financial Management at Clemson University, the metal art seed was planted in him by his aunt Jackie. After graduating, Frederick continued to gain a wide range of experience and skill sets as Project Managers, Estimators, General Managers, Ski Instructor, and Bartender. But it was not until Frederick was living in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2009, that he became truly passionate in metal art thanks to the work of Argentine artist Carlos Regazzoni. During this time he was fortunate to apprentice under Daniela Penovi, a metal artist that worked for Carlos Regazzoni. While living in Argentina, Frederick made his first metal piece, "El Elefante". This first metal piece got him hooked with exploring in the metal art world, and took him to Charleston, SC, where he apprenticed in several metal shops.  Frederick, or Eric, as his friends and family call him, currently has his own shop in Charleston, SC where everyday he explores materials, art, life, and more importantly has fun!
